Ingredients

  • Unsweetened cocoa powder: 1/2 cup (50 g)
  • Baking soda: 1 tsp
  • Fine sea salt: 1/2 tsp
  • Unsalted butter (softened): 1 cup (225 g)
  • Light brown sugar (packed): 1 cup (200 g)
  • Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup (100 g)
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Vanilla extract: 1 1/2 tsp
  • Semisweet chocolate chips: 1 1/2 cups (270 g)
  • Mini marshmallows: 1 1/4 cups (60 g)
  • Walnuts or pecans (chopped): 1 cup (120 g)
  • Festive holiday sprinkles (blue & white for Hanukkah, red & green for Christmas): 1/2 cup (100 g)

Instructions

Prepare Sheets:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Mix Dry:
Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
Cream Butter & Sugars:
Cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add Eggs & Vanilla:
Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
Combine & Fold In:
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Fold in chocolate chips, nuts, and 3/4 cup mini marshmallows.
Shape & Top:
Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart. Press on extra marshmallows and sprinkles.
Bake:
Bake cookies for 10 to 12 minutes, until edges are set but centers remain soft.
Cool:
Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
